Grandmas give a lot of love...
When Sarah told me she was having a baby, I didn't think for one minute that something would go wrong. People have babies every day. But at just 28 things went wrong and my little grandson, Lochie, was born.
I really wanted to be there to support my daughter and being able to stay at Ronald McDonald House made that possible. I cannot imagine how we would have managed without it.
All the time we spent with Lochie was really special, because when they come that little, you're not sure if they're going to make it. Every moment was precious.
At night, at the House, there was someone to sit with and talk about what had gone on during the day and everyone understands, because we were all in a similar situation. That's where it was just huge. We made friends who we'll probably keep in touch with forever.
I look at this little man and it's just amazing. He's a real miracle as far as I'm concerned. And I think Sarah appreciates her Mum a little more now!
