Good mates give a lot of love...
Nathan's a great mate of ours, been that way for over 25 years. We're in the Volunteer Fire Brigade and we do everything together. He's the type of mate who’d do anything for anybody.
No words can explain how we felt when we heard his daughter had been in a serious car crash. We were absolutely floored, we rushed to Wellington and stayed at the Ronald McDonald House.
For eight days we did what we could for Nathan and his family. We just floated in the background, doing those everyday things like cooking, cleaning and most importantly caring for Harrison, their son. When something needed to be done, we just did it. We all needed support and we gained it from each others strength. It was a whole family atmosphere, we talked, hugged alot and cried alot too.
If anything, the experience has made our friendship stronger. We still do everything together, that's how we live our lives... that's what mates' do!
