About McDonald's

McDonald's Family Restaurants is a founding partner of the first House which opened in Philadelphia, USA, in 1974.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Global (RMHC) is the charitable arm of McDonald's Worldwide.

Ronald McDonald House Wellington (RMHW) is an independent charitable trust and is given a licence to operate from RMHC. RMHC in New Zealand provides each of the three New Zealand Houses (Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch) with an annual grant for operating expenses, and makes contributions to capital projects.

Money raised through McDonald's Restaurants of New Zealand Limited goes to RMHC. Some of this money contributes to RMHW's daily operating costs. In order to build the new House and to expand the service offered, however, more financial help is required.
